Shelter and Meal Services - Light of Life Rescue Mission

Shelter and Meal Services

Light of Life’s Services provide critical resources to help meet needs and start a relationship with men, women, and children who need help. Upon building these relationships, we can provide food, shelter, hope, and healing by offering opportunities for case management, long-term care, and connections to other service providers. All services are located at 234 Voeghtly Street Pittsburgh, PA 15212.

Meal Ministry for Men, Women, and Children

Light of Life’s Meal Ministry provides breakfast and dinner seven days a week to men, women, and children in need. Staff cooks and volunteers work together to prepare and serve nutritious meals. Our Voeghtly Street Mission dining area seats over 80 individuals and women and children have their own separate dining room where they can feel safe and comfortable.

Street Outreach and Day Center for Men, Women, and Children

Light of Life’s Street Outreach Team visits camps and downtown areas daily to provide our homeless neighbors with critical resources and to build connections.

We also have a Day Center available at our Voeghtly Street Mission where homeless men, women, and children can come to receive a warm place to sit, snacks and water, prayer, and any other resources they need. Outside community partners will be scheduled to be onsite throughout the week as a resource for those in need, and weekend activities in the center will be offered to build relationships.

Shelter for Men, Women, and Children

32 men and 18 women and children who are homeless take comfort in Light of Life’s overnight shelter on any given night. The men’s and women’s shelters are on separate and secure floors to keep individuals as comfortable and safe as possible. In addition to a safe place to sleep, men, women, and children receive a morning and evening meal, bathing facilities, clean clothing, chapel services, and the opportunity to receive case management.

Chapel Services for Men, Women, and Children

Held daily at 4 pm, Light of Life’s Chapel Services offers a meaningful experience to guests from the community who hunger for more than a meal. Services are interactive, offering guests opportunities to engage in singing praises, prayer, and accepting the Lord into their lives. Chaplain services are also available daily as needed.

If you’re in need of emergency services, please contact 412-803-4120 (men) or 412- 258-6134 (women).
