Our Story

Off the Floor Pittsburgh began in 2004 with a simple act of compassion. Pittsburgh native Mary Jane McCarty felt called to help a mother and her two daughters who had no beds, no table, and no place to gather as a family. That moment revealed a deeper need in our city, and Off the Floor was born to restore dignity by turning empty spaces into homes.

For many years Off the Floor helped Light of Life to furnish homes for individuals and families as they took their first steps out of homelessness. In 2024, Off The Floor became an offcial ministry of Light of Life, strengthening our ability to care for our neighbors with compassion, dignity, and hope. Now, our Mission is blessed to help hundreds of families create a place to call home in Pittsburgh every year.

Furniture
Donation

Drop off your items at the Light of Life Outreach Center (720 E. Lacock Street, Pittsburgh, PA), Monday-Friday, 9AM-3PM or request a donation pickup through ReSupply.

Schedule a Pick Up

Preparing the Furniture

Our team will clean the furniture to ensure it’s in suitable condition prior to being delivered to a person in need.

Furniture Shopping

All families who benefit from Off The Floor get to come to our showroom and pick out the furniture they desire.

A Furnished Home

Through Off the Floor, families have couches to gather on, tables to share a meal around, and beds to get true rest in.

Items We Accept

Off The Floor accepts new or gently used furniture donations. Items that are ripped, worn, stained, have missing parts, or damaged cannot be accepted.
