Food and Emergency Shelter

Light of Life serves breakfast and dinner, provides emergency shelter for men and offers hope through chapel services 365 days a year to any person in need. Meals, emergency shelter and chapel services all take place at the Mission located at 10 E. North Avenue.

Meal Ministry Hours

Women and Children     7:30-8 a.m.
Men     6-8 a.m.

Women & Children     5-5:30 p.m.
Men     5-6 p.m.

Daily Chapel Services

Daily Chapel Services are currently on hold, due to COVID-19. However, during breakfast and dinner, there is always a staff person available to pray with guests and show them the hope of Jesus.

To sign up for emergency shelter, please call Allegheny Link at 1-866-730-2368. If you need access to a telephone to call Allegheny Link, please come to the front desk of the Mission at 10 E. North Avenue.

There are various programs for men who are homeless and looking for help. Ranging from shorter-stay work programs to longer-term recovery programs for those with greater needs, Light of Life offers healing, hope and resources.

Women and Children’s Life Recovery Program


Women who are homeless, the single head of their household and have already received residential recovery services through other area agencies are eligible for Light of Life’s program. During their time in the program, women are provided with subsidized apartments, assistance with transportation, household and childcare needs, and 20 hours per week of counseling, education and family strengthening.
