Scott's Story - Light of Life Rescue Mission

Scott’s Story

On Monday, September 14th, a man named Scott called us at Light of Life because he needed food and clothes for him and his 12-year old son. Our Street Outreach staff invited him to come to our Donation Center to retrieve the items needed.

Upon arriving, Scott told our staff that he recently moved from Ohio to Pittsburgh for a job in the construction field but lost it due to the Pandemic. We were able to get him clothes, food, and hygiene products. As he was about to leave, he asked if we happened to have any dog food and to our surprise, there were 3 cans of dog food in our Donation Center that Scott took home for his dog, Chaos!

Before he departed, our staff had the opportunity to pray over him. Scott told us that he was a Christian at one time, but he walked away from the Lord. Staff encouraged him about the love of Jesus and told him that Jesus is always willing to forgive him and receive him back into His Eternal Kingdom. Scott left that day with an appreciation that he didn’t expect, and our staff felt blessed to be able to share God’s love with someone looking for critical resources.
