Women and Children’s Life Recovery Program

women-and-children-program-hero-960Thank you for your interest in serving the Women and Children’s Life Recovery Program. Based on the information below, please let us know what type of age group and what kind of volunteer work you are interested in. A staff member will contact you within a week or so of your Light of Life orientation to discuss your interest in the program.

Please fill out an application if you would like to move forward as a volunteer for Light of Life.

Monday, Wednesday and Thursday: 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Tuesday: 9:30 a.m.-8:00 p.m.

We work with children in the following age groups. Please let us know what type of experience you have working with the following ages:

  • Infant to 4 years
  • 5 to 7 years
  • 8 to 12 years
  • 13+

While the women are participating in their groups, we provide special programming for their little ones.

  • Ensure children are supervised at all times – birth to 4 years old
  • Provide various experiences and activities for children including songs, games and storytelling
  • Provide a safe and secure environment for children to feel comfortable
  • Positive discipline when required

When school is out, the fun begins! If you have a passion for children, we would love you to join us in helping to make this summer the best one ever. Programming changes daily.

Have a passion for education? Tutors needed for mothers and children on various days/times.

Join us for focus on family Tuesdays. Our programming changes weekly, so there is always something new and exciting!

  • 5-6 p.m. Join us for dinner on Family Dinner Night
    • Assistance with setup and cleanup appreciated
  • 6-7 p.m. Tutors needed
  • 7-8 p.m. Children’s Art Project
    • When we do not have a “Family Fun Night” event planned, our own art therapist develops special programming for our children
  • 6-8 p.m. Teen Program
    • We built an awesome modern game room just for our teens and are in search of volunteers with a passion to mentor this age group
  • 6-8 p.m. Toddler Program – ages birth to 4 years old

Interested in event planning? We welcome you to help plan and participate in our special events! Programs change often, but here are some examples of our upcoming events:

  • Family Fun Nights
  • Tunch & Wolf’s Walk for the Homeless
  • Art and Fashion Show

    General office duties or preparation for various programs. Computer skills – Word and Excel

    • Data entry, light filing, making copies
    • Organizing materials for programs, preparing orientation folders, updating binders
    • Cutting out projects
