Volunteer Opportunities

Daily:
Meal Ministry
- 365 days a year
- Serve breakfast 7:30-9 a.m. (groups of up to four people)
- Food Prep 9-11 a.m., 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and 1-3 p.m.
- Serve dinner 4:30-6:30 p.m (groups of up to six people)
Office work at the Administration Office on Western Avenue
- Monday–Friday 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Childcare
- Monday–Thursday 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Prayer Partners
- Prayer is a vital part of what makes God’s work at Light of Life happen. When we pray, God hears and He moves. Would you like to commit to praying for Light of Life’s ministry on a regular basis?
Weekly:
Food Pantry
- Sorting, organizing, and distributing all food donations
Mentoring
- Be paired up with a client after they complete the program here at Light of Life
- Four hours a month
- Phone calls, coffee outings, going to church
Tutoring
- Up to a couple of hours a week
- Math, English, and Computers
Monthly:
Organizing a Community Cleanup
- Bring a group to clean a city block in the Northside
Special Events:
Volunteering on event day

How old do you have to be to volunteer?
Light of Life requires everyone to be at least 13 years old to volunteer
Do you accept court-ordered community service hours?
Light of Life does accept court-ordered community service hours on a case by case basis. If you are in need of court-ordered community service hours, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@lightoflife.org.
What is the process of signing up to volunteer?
- Fill out our volunteer application form
- Once you have filled out the application, our volunteer coordinator will contact you letting you know the upcoming orientation dates.
- Once you have gone through our volunteer orientation, we will begin scheduling you to volunteer.
Does everyone in my family/volunteer group need to attend the orientation?
No, as long as at least one person in your group has attended the orientation and goes over the information with everyone, you are good to go!
