Welcome to our new blog!
I’m Jessi Marsh, and I’m the Director of Advancement for Light of Life Rescue Mission and I will be bringing you interesting content related to rescue missions, addiction, recovery, homelessness and faith. Have a look around our new and improved website. Our hope is that it is easy for you to find information you are looking for, whether it is to seek help, to volunteer, to learn more about our services or to make a donation.
Light of Life has been serving the poor, addicted, abused, and needy on the North Side of Pittsburgh for over 60 years. We are on track to have served over 200,000 meals in 2016. We assist over 1000 unique individual people each year, often initially reaching out with a meal or a warm bed to sleep in. But what we have to offer is so much more. Sometimes we use the phrase “more than a meal” to describe what we do. We are honored and privileged to provide a meal to a hungry person. A warm bed to a cold, worn out human being. In addition to that, what we have to offer is the hope of Christ. We seek to build relationships with those who are in need. We seek to meet those needs of food and shelter, and provide an environment that is both physically and spiritually safe. All are welcome.
Check in often to read about stories of lives changed. We can’t wait to share them with you!
