How We Help

Meals

We believe that hope begins with a meal. Staff and volunteers work together to prepare and serve two meals every day. Each year the Mission serves over 100,000 meals, including holiday outreach events.

Women and Children

Through case management and counseling, women at the Mission are empowered to achieve good health and self-sufficiency. Additionally, they can grow their careers, relationships, and spiritual walks. Light of Life embraces mothers and their children, many of whom have been deeply impacted by addiction and abuse.

Men

Often, men come through the doors of the Mission feeling hopeless and hurting from past trauma and addictions. We provide a wide variety of programs to help men where they’re at, whether they need a place to sleep for the night or looking for life transformation through our long-term programs.

Emergency Shelter

The Mission has 50 emergency shelter beds for people who need a safe place to stay overnight. Through case management, we are able to help people take the next step out of homelessness. In addition to a place to sleep, they can receive breakfast and dinner, a shower and clean clothing, and attend chapel service.

Recovery

After staying in our shelter, men and women have the opportunity to enter our Life Transformation Programs that focus on bringing transformation through community and personal relationships with Christ. These programs include our Men’s Long-Term Program, Sister’s Recovery House for single women, Women and Children’s Scattered Site program, and Mental Health program.

Essential Needs

In addition to giving people a safe place to stay and meals, the Mission also provides showers, clothing, laundry, medical, and hygiene care to those in need. We also have a food pantry that provides over 400,000 meals to those in our community as well as a donation center that provides essentials to clients, guests, and other organizations serving those in need.
