After-Care and Mentoring

After-Care

Through After-Care and Mentoring, Light of Life provides support to graduates of our recovery programs as they pursue long-term success in their personal lives and careers. Additionally, we coordinate a wide range of alumni social activities to promote a peer support community.

Mentoring

At Light of Life, we believe that relationships are foremost in the heart of God. Through mentoring, we connect our alumni from our recovery programs to Christian men and women who can provide encouragement, friendship, and support. Mentors can provide the support that our graduates need to cope with family management issues, develop life skills and progress in their recovery.

To meet the individual needs of our graduates, we provide a variety of partnerships: short-term, long-term, peer-to-peer and group mentoring.

Potential mentors should meet the following criteria: have a strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ; attend church regularly; demonstrate characteristics like friendliness, tenacity and faithfulness; possess solid communication and listening skills; and be at least 21 years of age. (Read the Ignite the Light brochure.)
